  •           Before the establishment of the parish Mwe hauk was part of the parish of Myaung Mya. Fr. Barbitz bought a land in Mwe hauk in 1970 and later he sent two sister of St. Francis Xavier to prepare the place with the help of catechists and villagers for future establishment of the parish. The construction of the new church for the village, under the supervision of Fr. Benjamin Martin, assistant priest of Myaung Mya took place in the following  years, and the construction was completed in 1978. Bishop Joseph Mahn Erie officiated the blessing of new church in Mwe Hauk in 1978 1st may and opened the oarish of Mwe Hauk by appointed Fr. Binjamin Martin as the parish priest.
