Young priests in the Myanmar diocese attend ongoing formation course

Young clergy in and under ten years of priesthood in the Diocese of Pathein in the Ayeyarwaddy Region of Myanmar attend an ongoing formation course from August 29 to 31.

The intention of the course is to update young priests to work according to the sign of the time in their respective mission fields.

The course is conducted in the diocesan hall located inside the Cathedral compound and started with Mass presided over by Father Henry Eikhlein, Diocesan Administrator, who facilitates it.

On the first day, from 9 am to 12 pm Father Albert Nyan Soe Nyeing, the Director of the Institute of Catechists in the diocese, delivered his lecture on scripture, and Father Florence Aung Kyaw Oo, the Diocesan Chancellor, on Dogmatic Theology from 2 to 5 in the afternoon.

Father Isidore, the Educator of Catechists, shares his knowledge on the lay participation in the mission of the Church with young priests from 9 am to 12 noon, and Father Aung Kyaw Oo continues delivering the same subject on the second day.

On the last day of the course, Father Raymond Kyaw Aung delivers his lecture on Missiology in the morning sessions, and in the afternoon is Father Aung Kyaw Oo’s subject.

The number of priests on the list is 16. Out of sixteen, 15 priests join the ongoing formation program. One is doing his study in the USA.
